Tobi
Hi, I'm Tobi. Welcome to my corner of the web. Im currently exploring computational frontiers at the intersection of machine learning systems and structural biology.
Interested in the capacity for AI architectures to engage in self organisation and collective behaviours. I believe the immune system, and stem cell differentiation pathways to be perfect examples for the capacity for intra-system signalling and regulation in complex architectures. Building a neural network which mirrors the differentiation pathways of haematopoietic stem cells branching layers in the latent space at "causal pivot genes" with SCMs, DAGs, and Pearl(do) calculus.
Another of my interests is the history of knowledge, and its acquisition, development, criticism and maintenance. I’m inspired by how individuals have applied novel approaches to reach solutions to challenges deemed impossible by their generations, and appreciate the capacity for institutions to promote cultures which make this possible Policy, advocacy and social good innovation is another area that is of great interest to me. I have always had a greater appreciation for things that have an impact on the macrolevel, even if their complexity lies within the micro. I see this capacity to elicit meaningful paradigm shifting change through policy development, discursive advocacy and by changing the capacity for us to interact with our world through science.
Now
• Currently building out Mesengenic AI, an ML driven target agnostic biologics synthesis agent with applications to single cell biology, protein discovery, and therapeutics development.
• Reviewing structural evolution vectors in generative models.
Recently
• Deploying VAEs, Bayesian Optimisation, and GMMs to tackle the problem of "blind bio", identified 17 new to nature proteins, vectorised 2M+ amino acids, analysed over 30,000 protein sequences. Recent Wins @ Daytona x Give(a)Go Hackathon for agentic sandbox deployment and 1st in Ai for Bio Track @ advance Health Hackathon
• Applied Maths Research on Markov Dynamics, Stochastic Processes and emergent behaviour at the Mathematics Applications Consortium for Science and Industry UL.
• Committed to promoting human rights and peace, and contributing to health policy development with IFMSA, I've recently attended AdriaTrain 2026 on Hvar Island, and March Meeting in Copenhagen. Looking forward to representing the Irish Delegation @ Astana, Kazakhstan in August .
